Weekend wreck hurts Waynesville woman Sunday near Devil’s Elbow

DEVIL’S ELBOW, Mo. (Aug. 17, 2009) — Only one weekend crash caused injuries in Pulaski County, according to state patrol reports.

Troopers reported that Shawna R. Stinson, 22, of Waynesville, had been westbound on Temporal Road about five miles east of Devil’s Elbow when she ran her 2003 Ford off the road at 6:05 p.m. Sunday and struck a tree stump. Stinson, who had been wearing her seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for treatment. Her vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed by Jack’s Towing personnel.

• In an unrelated weekend incident, state troopers reported that they arrested Samuel H. Steward, 35, of Dixon, at 2:18 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated, first offense. Steward was transported to the Pulaski County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
