| Two crashes hurt three Dixon teens |

DIXON, Mo. (Jan. 19, 2009) — Two different one-vehicle crashes injured three Dixon teenagers on Saturday and Monday evenings, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers reported that Stephen A. Woods, 17, was northbound on Carthage Road about 1.5 miles north of Cave Road driving a 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup at 6:36 p.m. on Saturday when he began sliding, overcorrected and overturned.
Woods suffered minor injuries and was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla by Dixon Ambulance District paramedics. Troopers said it wasn’t known whether he had been wearing his seat belt.
His pickup was extensively damaged and removed by Pro Tow of Dixon.
Monday’s crash caused more significant injuries.
Troopers reported that Natalie A. Sluss, 16, was southbound on Columbia Road near Dixon at 5 p.m. in a 2002 Ford ZX2 when she lost control of her car, struck a fence and came to rest back on the roadway.
Dixon firefighters and Dixon Ambulance District personnel responded to the crash, which happened about a third of a mile south of Highway D, and found the car had moderate front-end damage with the bumper separated from the vehicle. Neither Sluss nor her passenger, Melanie Major, 17, had been wearing their seat belts, troopers reported; both were transported by Dixon Ambulance District paramedics to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
The car was removed by Pro-Tow.
State troopers also made two unrelated arrests last week.
On Thursday, troopers in Pulaski County arrested Christopher Cristoffer, 28, of Richland, at 3:30 p.m. on a felony warrant from Taney County for forgery of checks. Cristoffer was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he was eligible for bond.
Cristoffer is a grandson of the Pulaski County chief deputy and son of the St. Robert Police Department head dispatcher.
On Saturday, troopers arrested Peter A. Butzler, 52, of St. Robert, on felony charges of driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender and charges of careless and imprudent driving. Butzler was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. |
