Sunday crash totals vehicle, causes minor injuries to child passenger

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. (May 17, 2010) — A Sunday afternoon one-vehicle wreck on Interstate 44 totaled a vehicle three miles east of Saint Robert but caused only minor injuries to a passenger and none to the driver, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers reported that Cinda L. Rook, 33, of Springfield, had been driving a 2007 Hyundai westbound on wet pavement when she lost control at 1 p.m., went off the right side of the roadway and collided with several trees. Rook had been wearing her seat belt and her passenger, Emma E. Rook, 3, also of Springfield, was in a child restraint.

Emma Rook was transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla for treatment. Jack’s Towing removed the vehicle; Waynesville firefighters assisted at the crash scene.

In unrelated weekend incidents:

• State troopers in Crawford County arrested Randy S. Hodges, 27, of Dixon, at 1:15 a.m. Saturday on a felony warrant from Randolph County for assault. Hodges was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was eligible for bond

• State troopers in Pulaski County arrested Charles C. Fuchs, 42, of St. Louis, at 1:18 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding. Fuchs was transported to the Pulaski County Jail and subsequently released.
