Saint Robert woman sideswiped Sunday on I-44 near Doolittle
DOOLITTLE, Mo. (June 8, 2009) — A St. Robert woman who stopped her vehicle partly on the travelled portion of Interstate 44 had her vehicle wrecked Sunday morning when it was hit by another vehicle.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Rosa M. Blackwell, 43, had been eastbound on Interstate 44 when she stopped her 1997 Dodge at mile marker 178 near Doolittle at 9:05 a.m., partially blocking the right lane. Her vehicle was then sideswiped by a 2007 Volvo driven by Jose A. Juarez-Vega, 47, of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Blackwell’s Dodge was extensively damaged and removed by C&C Towing of Rolla; Juarez-Vega’s Volvo sustained only minor damage and was driven from the scene.

Troopers transported Blackwell to Phelps County Regional Medical Center via patrol car for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the state patrol report, Blackwell had no insurance and it wasn’t known whether she had been wearing her seat belt. Juarez-Vega had been wearing his seat belt.
