The Missouri Department of Transportation has issued several road work alerts for the Fort Leonard Wood area. As with all road construction projects, MoDOT officials urge drivers to exercise caution while passing through the work zones. Workers may be on or near the roadway. Signs will be posted and flagmen will be present in areas where traffic will be impacted. Those who want more information may contact the Missouri Department of Transportation customer service number at (888) ASK-MoDOT, or (800) 275-6636.
 
EMERGENCY BRIDGE REPAIR TUESDAY MORNING:
MoDOT personnel announced at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday that one westbound lane of Interstate 44 will be closed at the Gasconade River Bridge at Mile Marker 143 near the Pulaski/Laclede county line for emergency joint repair on the bridge deck. No estimated completion time was immediately available.

Pulaski County Interstate 44:
·          MoDOT crews will be mowing, which controls roadside vegetation and improves sight distance, on the outer road from the intersection of Route D to the intersection of Route 133.
·          Weather permitting, work to repair pavement on Interstate 44 between Route 17 and Route 28 will begin on June 1, with crews working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  According to Missouri Department of Transportation Resident Engineer Phill Knott, crews will be performing pavement repair work in the eastbound lane before laying new asphalt pavement. Work is expected to complete by the end of July. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the repairs. Crews and equipment will be placed directly on the roadway.

Pulaski County Route HH:
MoDOT crews will be patching, which restores rideability of the roadway surface, from the intersection of Route 17 to the end of state maintenance. Work will begin on May 26 and is expected to end May 28. Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. While performing this function, crews and equipment are located directly on the roadway.

 
Pulaski County Route KK:
MoDOT crews will be patching, which restores rideability of the roadway surface, from the intersection of Route U to the end of state maintenance. Work will begin on May 26 and expected to end May 28. Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. While performing this function, crews and equipment are located directly on the roadway.
 
Pulaski County Route Z:
MoDOT crews will do bridge maintenance on the bridge located over the Big Piney River to improve the section where the road and bridge meet and prevent deterioration of the bridge deck or structure. Work will begin on May 26 and is expected to end May 28. Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
 
Pulaski County Route 28:
MoDOT personnel announced on May 15 that construction crews will be working on a project on Route 28 in Pulaski County from Interstate 44 to Route C in Dixon, Mo., beginning Monday, May 18, and are expected to end on June 2.  Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
 
Pulaski County Route 17:
MoDOT personnel announced on May 15 that construction crews will be working on a project on Route 17 in Pulaski County on the bridge located over the Gasconade River beginning Monday, May 18, and are expected to end on June 15.  Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
 
Pulaski County Various Routes:
MoDOT crews will replace, install and or maintain roadway signs. While performing this function, crews and equipment are located directly on or near the roadway. Motorists are urged to exercisecaution when moving through the work zone.
 
Phelps County Route M:
MoDOT crews will be patching, which restores rideability of the roadway surface, from the intersection of Route 63 to the intersection of Route J east of Fort Leonard Wood. Work will begin on May 26 and is expected to end May 28. Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. While performing this function, crews and equipment are located directly on the roadway.
 
Phelps County Route K:
MoDOT personnel announced on May 15 that previously planned work on the Route K Bridge over Spring Creek in Phelps County has been delayed until May 26. Due to inclement weather, work to replace the bridge deck has been postponed. Once work on the structure has begun, the contract states work must be complete and the bridge reopened within 60 days.
 
Texas County Various Routes:
MoDOT crews will perform vegetation control on the right-of-way, which improves sight distance.Crews will also be removing storm-damaged trees and brush from the right-of-way. This functionimproves safety by keeping the right-of-way and roadways clear of debris.
