Pulaski County Circuit Court Report 5/7/2009
Officials with the Pulaski County Circuit Court have reported the following actions in recent cases:

Christopher James Woodman, 20, of Crocker, pleaded innocent on May 7 to a Class C felony charge of second-degree burglary accusing him of acting in concert with another by entering a city-owned building in Crocker Community Park between Aug. 2 and 3, 2007, for the purpose of stealing. Associate Circuit Judge Greg Warren set his bond at $15,000 by cash or a bail bondsman and scheduled a May 13 preliminary hearing.

Kele L. Johnson, 32, of St. Robert, appeared with his attorney, Brian Wooley, and waived a May 7 preliminary hearing on a Class A felony charge of first-degree domestic assault accusing him of knowingly causing serious physical injury to a family or household member by branding her just below her right eye with a lit cigarette and two Class C felony charges of felonious restraint and first-degree child welfare endangerment accusing him of restraining a woman without her consent and exposing her to a substantial risk of serious physical injury and of grabbing a child less than 17 by her arms and throwing her to the ground, all on April 7. Associate Circuit Judge Colin Long bound the case over to circuit court for a June 3 arraignment.

Kenora Deshawn Clark, 38, of Detroit, appeared with the public defender and waived a May 7 preliminary hearing on a Class A felony charge of first-degree trafficking accusing her of acting in concert with another on April 9, 2008, to transport about 942 kilograms of marijuana in 15 separately bundled packages in a rental vehicle through Pulaski County while headed east toward Michigan for delivery of more than 30 kilograms of marijuana to an unknown person. Judge Long bound the case over to circuit court for a June 3 arraignment.

Joel Ruiz, 33, of St. Robert, appeared with his attorney, Brian Wooley, and waived a May 7 preliminary hearing on a Class C felony charge of failure to return rented personal property accusing him of signing a written rental agreement for a 42-inch plasma television worth at least $500 but failed to return the television to Keller’s Rental in St. Robert by Nov. 11, 2006. Judge Long bound the case over to circuit court for a June 3 arraignment.

Freddy J. Isbell, 28, of Lebanon, appeared with his attorney, Bob O’Neil, and waived a May 7 preliminary hearing on a Class B felony charge of financial exploitation of a disabled person accusing him of misrepresenting his status as a “licensed contractor” and gaining control of $3,780 with the purpose of depriving the disabled person of her property. Judge Long bound the case over to circuit court for a June 3 arraignment.
