Night training exercise Wednesday to close Fort Leonard Wood west gate
FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (April 22, 2009) — Post officials have announced that a brief closure is planned for Waggener Gate at the west end of Fort Leonard Wood, along with Polla Road leading to Waynesville, for a night training activity.

The closure will begin about 11 p.m. and run until midnight on Wednesday, April 22. The training activity is not related to the ongoing ENFORCE engineer conference or the Best Sapper competition.

In the case of inclement weather, the alternate date and time for the night training activity and subsequent gate closure is Thursday, April 23, from 11 p.m. to midnight. The training team may determine the weather call just minutes before execution of the training maneuver.

Post officials say that during this time, travelers are encouraged to use the Sverdrup main (north) gate entrance located off Missouri Avenue in St. Robert.
