State troopers want to talk to driver of rolled-over pickup truck

Rothmund's Towing personnel work to remove a pickup truck from Raceway Road.
TURKEY RIDGE, Mo. (March 14, 2009) — State troopers want to talk to the driver who rolled an older-model blue pickup truck Saturday night on Raceway Road about halfway between Highway W and Highway 7.

About 8:30 p.m., troopers received a report from Pulaski County 911 dispatchers of a personal injury crash. However, when Waynesville firefighters and Pulaski County Ambulance District paramedics arrived along with the troopers, they couldn't locate anyone around a 1990 Chevy S-10 pickup that had crashed onto the passenger side with extensive damage. Debris from the pickup was scattered around the roadway with a smashed windshield.

"We're still not sure who the driver was," said Sgt. Darryl Suhr of the state patrol.

The vehicle is registered to a Waynesville resident but it's not clear that resident had anything to do with the crash.

"We're in the process of contacting the owner to try to find out more about what happened," Suhr said.

The pickup had a rear cab window memorializing the death of an area resident who was killed several years ago in an ATV crash.

Rothmund's Towing removed the pickup with directions that it was not to be released to anyone until troopers speak to the person who wants to retrieve it.
