Dixon driver's pickup totaled Tuesday in crash with hit-and-run motorist

DIXON, Mo. (May 15, 2012) — A Dixon motorist totaled his pickup Tuesday evening on Cave Road near the Gasconade River between Highway O leading to Dixon and Highway Y leading to Saint Robert in a crash involving another driver who fled the scene, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers reported that an unknown person in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala was driving westbound on Cave Road at 7:15 p.m., crested a hill at a high rate of speed, abruptly applied his brakes, and skidded into the path of an eastbound 1992 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Brandon T. Light, 27, of Dixon, who according to troopers had not been wearing his seat belt.

The Chevrolet driver fled the scene, leaving his Impala with moderate damage; Jack’s Towing removed the vehicle. Light’s pickup was totaled and he suffered minor injuries, being transported by Dixon Ambulance personnel to Phelps County Regional Medical Center. His pickup was removed by Anybody Towing of Waynesville.
