Rep. Day Welcomes Richland 4th Graders to the Missouri State Capitol

Rep. David Day meets with a group of Richland Elementary School students at the State Capitol.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Nov. 12, 2008) – On Oct. 29, over 50 fourth-graders from Richland Elementary School traveled to Missouri’s State Capitol to learn about their state government. The students had the opportunity to tour the capitol and see the many works of art, along with the many exhibits the capitol has to offer.

“It was great to see these kids and even some parents from home. We love having visitors come to the Capitol,” Day said. “I’m glad the students had the opportunity to come to Jefferson City and visit the Capitol. For almost all of the students, and even a few of the adults, I am told this was their first visit to the capitol and their first opportunity to see where their state government does its work.”

“It’s something that really grabs their attention and hopefully they will take more of an interest in the political process as they get older,” Day said.
