Three Dixon teens hurt in Friday wreck
DIXON, Mo. (Jan. 3, 2009) — A Friday afternoon wreck south of Dixon injured three teens from that community, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers reported that Todd A. Martin, 17, was southbound on Highway 28 about a mile south of Route D at 2:45 p.m. in a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier when he ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and began skidding and sliding. He then crossed the centerline, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch, causing extensive damage to his car.

Martin was not hurt, but his three passengers, Chelsea L. Atterbery, 13, Jessica T. Thompson, 16, and Phylizia K. Young, 15, all suffered minor injuries and were taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla for treatment.

All four occupants had been wearing their seat belts, troopers reported. The car sustained extensive damage and was removed by Pro Tow of Dixon.

In an unrelated incident, state troopers reported that they arrested Mason J. Carroll, 22, of Richland, at 2:38 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated and having no proof of insurance. Carroll was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he was subsequently released.
