Richland baseball shut out 18 to 0 by Eugene in Iberia tournament Tuesday
RICHLAND, Mo. (May 19, 2010) — Richland lost to Eugene 18 to 0 in Tuesday evening’s Iberia baseball tournament.

Richland, the eighth-ranked team, struggled during the season and faced the top-ranked Eugene, a state-qualifying team. Eugene’s victory over Richland was no contest, due largely to the talent and dominance of Eugene’s pitching and offense.

While defeating Richland wasn’t a major task, a shutout isn’t to be underestimated and scoring 18 runs is no small feat, even for a first-ranked team.

Eugene goes on Wednesday to continue play in the Iberia tournament.
