Rollover wreck causes minor injuries
SAINT ROBERT, Mo. (Dec. 10, 2009) — A midmorning Thursday crash near St. Robert on Highway Z totaled a SUV and injured its driver and a passenger while causing only minor damage to a pickup truck.

According to Missouri State Highway patrol reports, Wilber L. Smith, 46, of Newburg, was driving a 1998 Isuzu Trooper SUV eastbound at 11:45 a.m. about a mile east of the St. Robert city limits when he turned left in front of an eastbound 2003 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Charles B. Smith, 32, of Richland, striking the pickup and causing it to roll over.

Wilber Smith and his passenger, Leslie R. Smith, 18, also of Newburg, were transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Charles Smith was not hurt.

Both vehicles were removed by Jack’s Towing; the Isuzu Trooper was totaled while the Dodge Ram sustained only minor damage.

Troopers reported that Leslie Smith and Charles Smith had not been wearing their seat belts but didn’t know whether Wilber Smith had been wearing his seat belt.
