Congressman Ike Skelton
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 8, 2009) — Congressman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) announced today that the U.S. House of Representatives has approved H.J.Res. 26, a resolution posthumously recognizing Casimir Pulaski as an honorary citizen of the United States.

“Casimir Pulaski is a unique part of America’s history and remains one of our most notable military leaders. Each year, on Oct. 11, we celebrate the contributions of Pulaski, who made outstanding contributions to our nation when he fought alongside American colonists against the British in the American Revolutionary War. I was pleased to support passage of H.J.Res. 26 in the House of Representatives to further honor his legacy in the United States,” said Skelton.

The House of Representatives approved the legislation unanimously.

Congressman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) serves as chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Congressman Skelton’s website is at www.house.gov/skelton.
