Richland woman faces drunk driving charge after totaling pickup in rollover
RICHLAND, Mo. (Oct. 26, 2009) — A Richland woman faces drunk driving charges after totaling her pickup early Sunday morning in a rollover wreck on Historic Route 66 in Laclede County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Amber A. Williams, 21, was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 eastbound near Redwood Lane when she drove off the north side of the roadway at 4:05 a.m., returned to the roadway, overcorrected, skidded off the north edge of the roadway again, struck several trees and overturned.

Williams suffered only minor injuries despite not wearing her seat belt and was transported by troopers to St. John’s Hospital in Lebanon. Her pickup was removed by Steve’s Towing.

Troopers reported that they arrested Williams at 4:50 a.m. but released her after taking her to the hospital. Charges filed against her include driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.

In an unrelated Sunday morning incident, state troopers in Texas County arrested Jason C. Hathaway, 28, of Plato, at 12:38 a.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and needing to test, no proof of insurance, failure to register a motor vehicle, having an inoperable license plate lens and failure to use his seat belt. Troopers transported him to the Texas County Jail where he was placed on a 12-hour hold.
