Waynesville woman lies roadside for hours following motorcycle wreck
WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (Oct. 20, 2009) — A Waynesville woman totaled her motorcycle and lay off the roadway for hours Saturday evening until she was found, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers reported that Christina M. Howell, 29, had been northbound on Highway 17 about six miles north of the city limits when she ran her 2006 Suzuki motorcycle off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned her motorcycle. When troopers responded to the crash, there was frost on Howell’s helmet and her entire motorcycle, and she said she had been there “for several hours before she was discovered.” That led troopers to estimate the crash may have happened about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Howell, who had been wearing her helmet, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for treatment. Her motorcycle was removed by Jack’s Towing.
