Two Dixon drivers wreck vehicles; third Dixon man arrested after fleeing
DIXON, Mo. (Oct. 15, 2009) — Crashes this week outside Pulaski County involving Dixon residents wrecked four vehicles and sent two people to hospitals for emergency treatment.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Steven A. Davis, 18, of Dixon, was southbound Monday in Maries County on Route 63 about a mile north of Vichy at 5:55 p.m. when he attempted to turn his 1995 Toyota Corolla left into a private drive but turned into the path of a northbound 2001 Hyundai Accent driven by James R. Perkins, 23, of Columbia and was struck in the side.

Both vehicles were totaled and Davis suffered serious injuries, being airlifted by emergency helicopter to St. John’s Hospital in Creve Coeur. Perkins was not injured.

Davis and Perkins had both been wearing their seat belts. Ron Dishman’s Towing removed both vehicles.

The next day, Christiane A. Martin, 33, of Dixon, was stopped at the westbound stop sign in the Phelps County community of Doolittle at the intersection of Eisenhower and Route T driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu at 3:25 p.m. when she failed to yield to an approaching 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jenna C. Snodgrass, 18, of Duke, who was northbound on Route T. Both vehicles collided and ran off the roadway with extensive damage to both vehicles.

Martin was not hurt but Snodgrass suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Both had been wearing their seat belts.

Martin’s Malibu was removed by C&C Towing and Snodgrass’ Jeep was removed by Rolla Full Auto Care.

In an unrelated incident, state troopers arrested a Dixon man, David E. Davignon, 30, at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday in Pulaski County on charges of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Davignon was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.
