Weekend crashes in Pulaski County injure four, wreck three vehicles
WAYNESVILLE/CROCKER, Mo. (Sept. 14, 2009) — Two weekend crashes wrecked three vehicles and sent four people to area hospitals with various injuries, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers reported that a Saturday evening head-on crash on Spring Road about 12 miles west of Waynesville happened when Ryan D. Maness, 21, of Richland, was northbound in a 2001 Ford Taurus, rounded a curve at 6:20 p.m., and met a southbound 2009 Mazda 3 driven by Elizabeth M. Marks, 25, of Waynesville.

Maness’ car was totaled but he suffered only minor injuries. Marks and her passenger, Alexander Hubler, 8, of St. Louis, both suffered moderate injuries though their car was extensively damaged rather than totaled. All three were transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District paramedics to St. John’s Hospital in Lebanon; all had been wearing their seat belts.

Rothmund’s Towing removed both vehicles; Pulaski County deputies also assisted at the crash scene.

A Sunday afternoon motorcycle wreck totaled a 2008 Honda and moderately injured its rider, Germaine Wilson, 33, of Fort Leonard Wood.

Troopers reported that Wilson had been westbound on Highway U about eight miles west of Crocker at 2:55 p.m. when he ran off the right side of the roadway while rounding a curve, overturned, and was thrown from the motorcycle. Wilson, who had been wearing his helmet, was transported to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel. The motorcycle was removed by its owner.
