Dixon crash totals car on Tuesday
DIXON, Mo. (Sept. 8, 2009) — A rear-end crash west of Dixon totaled one car on Tuesday morning and sent its driver to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

State troopers reported that Jerry D. Nelson, 68, of Dixon, had been stopped in traffic at the junction of Highway 133 and Highway C waiting to make a left-hand turn when his 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was struck in the rear at 9:30 a.m. by a 1991 Oldsmobile driven by Josephine O. Ogle, 82, also of Dixon.

Nelson wasn’t hurt; his pickup was only moderately damaged and still able to be driven away from the crash scene. However, Ogle’s Oldsmobile was totaled; she suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by Dixon Ambulance District personnel.

Both Nelson and Ogle had been wearing their seat belts. Ogle’s car was removed by Davis Towing of Dixon.
