|Judge Sotomayor disqualified by Cross-Examination 101

Perjury-in criminal law, willful false statement made under oath with respect to a material matter, either in a legal proceeding, as by a witness at a trial, or in matters in which an oath is authorized or required by law ...
The United States Senate is about to confirm a judge to the most powerful position in the nation, arguably MORE powerful than the presidency, who can’t keep a story straight. No, she wasn’t witness to a crime, unless you consider her speeches an incitement to attack not-so-wise white men.
We’re talking about Judge Sotomayor’s conflicts — with herself.
We have her answers. She offered many diverse ones at odds with her previous statements. Americans shouldn’t have doubts about which Sotomayor shows up in court. The fact that Sotomayor’s responses are multiple and different puts all of us peons in that precarious predicament.
You may ask, “Hey Weinbaum, who are you to accuse a federal appellate judge of perjury?”
Amazingly, the allegation is made by liberal Hahvad-educated Georgetown Law Professor, Louis Michael Seidman. He said, “I was completely disgusted by Judge Sotomayor’s testimony today. If she was not perjuring herself, she is intellectually unqualified to be on the Supreme Court. If she was perjuring herself, she is morally unqualified.”
Instead of mea culpas for her racist, sexist, wise-Latina-woman-having-better-judgment-than-white-male remarks, Judge Sotomayor uses quotes from retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra O’Conner’s non-racist and non-sexist statements encouraging females ... without the hate speech.
Other examples of her amateurish misrepresentations are:
• Claiming her work for the leftist Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund was not substantive. Eyewitnesses say otherwise.
• Misstating her statements concerning use of international law in making Supreme Court decisions.
• Her waltz around her otherwise stated objections to the right to bear arms with Sen. Coburn.
• Ignoring her constitutional duties by burying a case of intentional racial discrimination, a.k.a. the firefighter’s case, where she was recently overturned by the Supremes.
Those without core rot quicker
As I personally witnessed at the All Star Game in St. Louis (just after meeting David Gregory), President Obama was booed almost as much as he was cheered. He was followed by the guy he abuses as a scapegoat for his foibles. An absent and distant George W. Bush got twice our current Hypocrite-in Chief’s ovations when put on the scoreboard video right after Obama.
Barack threw the first pitch in the dirt, contrasted with Bush’s strike down the middle just after 9/11 at Yankee Stadium. Obama knows he must hurry appointments like Sotomayor and his other lethal legislation(s) including Universal Health Care and Crap and Tax.
The managers, a.k.a. American voters, have called the bullpen and a multitude of Republicans are warming up.
Obama doesn’t have time to balk on appointments or legislation as the fans are beginning to rebel.
Never pander to a panderer
Many on the right, including Dennis Miller on the O’Reilly Factor last night, say Republicans are doing a disservice to their cause by the tough questioning of Sotomayor. They think the elephants should do the PC thang by playing political patty cake with her and then confirm her to garner favor in the Hispanic communities.
Republicans live and die on having and executing high principles. They should not coddle those who openly have only one dogma above all others — power. They are called Democrats (not all but most). It’s when Republicans are ensconced in unprincipled activities that they lose elections, and possibly more Latino voters than those falsely offended by the hearings.
My opinion of Judge Sotomayor is she is an angry liberal progressive who will say and do anything to get confirmed so she can stick it to the “white man,” something she’ll be enabled to do for the rest of her life on the Supreme Court.
The hearings should result in her disqualification. Americans shouldn’t be left to guess who she really is and how she’ll protect and uphold the Constitution.
