Three hurt in two one-vehicle wrecks Friday evening, Saturday morning
CROCKER/SAINT ROBERT, Mo. (July 11, 2009) — Two separate one-vehicle crashes injured three people on Friday evening and early Saturday morning, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Crocker firefighters received their second call Friday to a crash on Highway 17 about 7:10 p.m., after working a previous wreck shortly after noon. When firefighters arrived, they found a 2003 Ford Taurus rolled over on its top about three miles south of Crocker with the driver, Mindy Cochran, already out of the vehicle.

Troopers reported that Cochran, 17, of Crocker, had been southbound when she ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned. Cochran, who had been wearing her seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel to Lake Regional Medical Center in Lake Ozark for treatment.

Her vehicle was totaled and removed by Gene's Towing.

About 2 a.m. Saturday, emergency personnel responded to an ATV wreck on Texas Road about 3 miles east of the St. Robert city limits where they found a 2005 Yamaha ATV from which two men had been ejected after a crash.

Troopers reported that Jacob E. Smith, 24, of St. Robert, had been eastbound when he ran off the left side of the roadway and collided with a ditch. Neiter Smith nor his passenger Kim Evans, 29, of Waynesville, had been wearing helmets and both were transported to area hospitals by Pulaski County Ambulance District personnel for treatment; Evans suffered moderate injuries and went to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla while Smith suffered serious injuries and was transported to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital.

The ATV sustained only minor damage and was driven from the scene.

In an unrelated incident, state troopers in Atchison County arrested George H. Baty, 27, of Dixon, at 10:44 p.m. Friday on two warrants, one misdemeanor warrant from Franklin County for an overweight vehicle and one felony warrant from Pulaski County for possession of a controlled substance. Baty was taken to the Atchison County Jail where he was eligible for bond.
