Fireworks, silent auction to be held tonight in Richland Shady Dell Park
RICHLAND, Mo. (July 11, 2009) — Missed the Fort Leonard Wood fireworks show last week? Can’t get enough lights and sounds?

If so, Richland city officials want to see you tonight at Shady Dell Park.

“It’s one of the biggest fireworks displays in the area,” said City Administrator Anita Ivey. “There’s no charge to enter. We have food to sell, but other than that, it’s free, and you don’t have to buy a hot dog to come see the fireworks.”

Ivey said the fireworks are expected to last about 20 to 30 minutes and will begin at dusk.

Prior to the fireworks, a silent auction will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., along with music and food sales. The event is coordinated by the Richland Parks and Recreation Department, and those who want further information on that celebration may call the city at (573) 765-4421.
