Pulaski County Circuit Court Reports, 6/18/2009
Officials with the Pulaski County Circuit Court have reported the following actions in recent cases:

Anthony E. Goree, 42, of St. Robert, pleaded innocent on June 16 to a Class C felony charge of first-degree tampering accusing him of operating a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero on Feb. 13, 2008, without the owner’s consent. Associate Circuit Judge Colin Long set his bond at $10,000, scheduled the case for advice of counsel on June 23, and ordered the defendant to personally appear.

Michael F. Talley, 40, of Dixon, appeared with his attorney, James Thomas, and waived a June 17 preliminary hearing on a Class C felony charge of stealing accusing him of taking a 1995 Hull Tilt Trailer worth at least $500 on Oct. 14 without the owner’s consent, having previously been convicted of the Class C felony of stealing in 2002 in Dallas County Circuit Court, of the Class B felony of first-degree burglary in 2002 in Phelps County Circuit Court, and of the Class C felony of second-degree burglary in 2001 in Christian County Circuit Court, all resulting in sentences of 10 days or more. Associate Circuit Judge Greg Warren bound the case over to circuit court for a July 8 arraignment.

Paul A. Carey, 32, of Fort Leonard Wood, appeared with the public defender for a June 17 preliminary hearing before Judge Warren on a Class A felony charge of first-degree robbery accusing him of forcibly stealing $341 from a woman on June 6 while threatening the use of what appeared to be a deadly weapon. Prosecutors presented evidence; the defendant presented no evidence. Judge Warren found probable cause to believe Carey may be guilty of a felony and bound the case over to circuit court for a July 8 arraignment.

Thomas M. January, 47, of Waynesville, pleaded innocent on June 17 to a Class B felony charge of sale of a controlled substance accusing him of acting in concert with another to sell oxycodone to an undercover state trooper on Dec. 20, 2005. Judge Warren set his bond at $15,000 cash-only and scheduled the case for a June 23 preliminary hearing.
