LAQUEY, Mo. (Aug. 8, 2009) — A Friday evening crash near Laquey caused a motorcyclist to suffer with what he said were collarbone injuries and be transported for hospital treatment.

Jeffrey E. Thomas, 40, of Lebanon, wasn’t able to give precise directions to 911 dispatchers but rescue personnel eventually found him on Highway AB about two miles west of Laquey. According to state patrol reports, Thomas had been eastbound at 7:30 p.m. on a 2002 Indian Spirit motorcycle when he started skidding and was struck by a deer, causing his motorcycle to run off the right side of the roadway.

Thomas, who had been wearing his helmet, was transported by Pulaski County Ambulance District paramedics to St. John’s Hospital in Lebanon with moderate injuries. His motorcycle sustained only minor damage and was removed by Rothmund’s Towing.

In an unrelated state patrol arrest, troopers arrested Brittany A. Crespo, 18, of St. Robert, at 1:50 a.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving. Crespo was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where she was subsequently released.
